This is what "abstrait" is all about: to slowly remove the domination of the shape upon our senses, until there remains only the essence of reality.
Even though you want to make figurative drawings, the optical reality may seem incredible. This is the case for tree barks. Eucalyptus, Tibetan Cherry Tree... particular bark is an exemple of what we could call: a "spontaneous abstrait".

Meaning that the real optical images temporarily appear unreal.
